By the Old Testament angel is a god created pure spirit living in heavenly residence and employed by God as the diplomatic envoys of His will. "Angel" is a Greek word which means messenger but in Hebrew "angel" also means messenger.
In folk theology Jewish and Christian traditions show the tasks assigned to angels and how people have been believe in it longer than 4000 years.
By theology angels were sent by God for unique people to bring the truth and hope when they are in trouble and critical situations. Angel is a part of God who comes to protect people when they are in danger, or angel can be God's warning message in fear times. But angels are not there for intervening to establish it, they only helping to respond to the truth. When people in specific situations God sending angels as a guide to take a specific action.
Angels have emotions they can be sad and cry, have fun and laugh but they don't negotiate until God tells them to. As angels are spirits they can't die and live among seen and unseen. When god wants to listen someone they appears to bear his message and doesn't matter if that someone is religious or not. Angels differs from spirit guides as they don't run someone's life, they only do their assigned task and disappear. Spirit guides always come back and trying to change people into their image with manipulation and demanding attention.
It's very dangerous to faith with such phenomenon but if ask God to send them away and find prayer partner it may help and God can send a real angel and destroy this deception. Angels always in places where happening important events. When people see angels they can tend to get freaky and even fall down in fear. Anyhow humans are more important than angels as they are like servants acting on God's authority while each person is individuality , can make their own decisions and responsible to distinguish God's ways. People are followers of Jesus while angels live in God's great presence and receive his commands.
But Jesus is more important than angels. Angels also have their counterparts on the dark side called demons. They did not return God's love because of pride but God did not destroy them and permits a limited sphere of activity. Demons don't have own messages to tell they can only lie and ruin God's message. They don't have pure purposes and their very existence is twisted up and broken.
Very often Satan pictured as peer to the Michael and Gabriel archangels and he can come disguised as an angel of light. They also can come pretending to be angels but everyone knows demons are from the dark side and will try to divert people from Jesus or Scripture. Demons can make a firestorm in human heads make them doubt in their decisions and never miss out an opportunity to rank themselves higher. The Bible also makes a distinction between demon possession and demon influence.
