lost souls
It is indeed remarkable work that you do, and there is not a great deal of it going on, either in your country or on your earth plane at this time. Pray continue with the work. (From a communication with 'Philippe')
As more and more studies proceed on the subject of what actually happens at and after physical death a fairly coherent picture emerges.
Normally the soul leaves the body quite easily, without pain or trauma. Then it frequently stays around the area where it happened for a short period, but soon 'dead' relatives of friends, or spirit guides contact it and lead it to the world of spirit. However it seems that this straightforward transition is not automatic, and a large number of souls do not actually pass over in this manner.
The lost souls who do not pass over at once apparently belong to two main groups, the 'lost souls' and the 'misguided souls'. The latter would approximate to those more usually known as 'earthbound spirits'. These are apparently souls that for reasons of there own deliberately hold back to the earth condition, which they remember and do not wish to leave. Often these are harmless or even well intentioned, but in many cases they are quite the reverse. It is probable that members of this group are responsible for obsession and possession of mortals.
The existence of such spirits is accepted, as exemplified in the work of Carl Wickland and present-day psychic and religious exorcisms. The lost souls What then are the lost souls? Well, it appears that when the physical body comes to the point of death the soul leaves it, but instead of passing on to the spirit world it becomes static in some halfway state. It has left the body and the earth's plane; nevertheless it has not proceeded on towards the spirit plane. It seems to exist in a black/grey world where everything has come to a standstill.
It is unable to make contact back to the earth plane or o the spirit world. And it is because they are unable to call attention to themselves in any way that we know so little about them. I think that mediums and psychics have from time to time made some kind of contact with such souls, but not knowing of the existence of this state of being, have classified them as earthbound. Possibly the most evidential account of lost souls was given by some of the resuscitated patients questioned by Dr. Raymond Moody about their out-of-body experiences.
Patients spoke of entities existing in a dull atmosphere- in contrast of the bright light of the spirit world. They looked washed out, dull, grey, . . . forever shuffling and moving around . . . not knowing what to follow or who to look for. According to one patient they were located somewhere between the physical world and the spirit world, and ' there seemed to be a great huge array of them around'.
From my own experience in a rescue circle and from the words of spirit communicators, it appears that the great majority of these lost souls are those of people killed suddenly in war conditions or in accidents. Possibly at death in those circumstances the soul is ejected so suddenly from the body that it does not know what has happened to it. In other cases the person concerned may have been a complete materialist, believing that death is the end of everything, so that when their soul arrives in the afterlife it has absolutely no idea what to do.
Alternatively the person may have an absolutely fixed idea of the afterlife, but the soul arriving there finds it completely different from the preconceived picture, that it is utterly confused. Again a person with a very weak character on earth, who always relied upon others for aid or advice, could expect to find the same help in the afterlife but when it was not forthcoming would just take no initiative itself. How are they rescued? Many souls in the world of spirit take up the service of going down to the grey areas and rescuing lost souls, and take them on into the planes of the spirit.
A good deal has been written about this, and a recent book is 'Road of Many Ways' by 'John'. This is well worth reading for it gives a good account of the spirit rescue work and also mentions assistance from a circle in Capetown.
