The concept of paranormal phenomena describes a wide variety of reported anomalous phenomena and considered as deviation of expected events.

The word paranormal includes two parts para and normal and also describes an event which is beyond or contrary to scientifically possible considerations. In many journals of Parapsychology the term paranormal deemed as "any phenomenon that in one or more respects exceeds the limits of what is deemed physically possible according to current scientific assumptions". In this case most of scientific communities escapes researching of paranormal as it can be out of scientific method's understandings. Scientific method is a wide variety of techniques for investigating phenomena in case to get new knowledge or correcting previous knowledge and based on gathering measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning.

Scientific method includes collection of data through observation, experimentation, formulation and testing of hypotheses. The paranormal concept includes some parapsychological subjects as telepathy, psychokinesis, extra - sensory perception, post-mortem survival studies like reincarnation, ghosts and hauntings but there are also many subjects which out of parapsychology understanding such as anomalous aspects of UFO's, the phenomena of Bermuda Triangle and etc.

Parapsychology is the study of paranormal psychological phenomena which involved extra - sensory perception, psycho kinesis and survival of consciousness after death; parapsychologists call these phenomena psi. The word Psi comes from basic term non-suggestive which means the phenomena or experiences. Telepathy is a ability of sensing the thoughts of others, and controlling the minds of other people. There are various mechanisms of telepathy in fiction and most of fictional telepaths are limited to receiving only thoughts that are deliberately sent by other telepaths, or even to receiving thoughts from a specific other person.

Extra-Sensory Perception is a ability to get information by paranormal means which is independent of any known physical senses or deduction from previous experience. Reincarnation is a belief that some essential part of a living survives death to be reborn in a new body and this essential part is often referred to as the spirit or soul. According to such beliefs, a new personality is developed during each life in the physical world but some part of the being remains constantly present throughout these successive lives as well. Ghosts are anomalous phenomenon frequently similar in appearance to deceased person's apparition and usually encountered in places the person frequented. Ghosts are often associated with hauntings, which includes occurrence of paranormal phenomena associated with a particular locality and as it attributed to the activities of a discarnate entity; the phenomena may involve apparitions, poltergeists, sounds of footsteps and voices.

UFO is an unidentified flying object which cannot be identified by the observer and which remains unidentified after investigation. The Devil's Triangle known as Bermuda Triangle is a region of the northwestern Atlantic Ocean in which a huge amount of aircraft and surface vessels have disappeared. Some of these disappearances have been attributed to the paranormal but most considered that it can be circumstances that fall beyond the boundaries of human error or acts of nature.

The approximation of paranormal phenomena from the research standpoint is very difficult as even when these events seem to be real it's not easy to explain them using existing rules or theory. But there are also many skeptics who don't assert that paranormal phenomena exist outside of conventional norms, if they exist at all.
