Spiritual warfare is a infinite fight for life full of God's loving governance but there are also evil forces and enemies which in full-scale revolt and have powerful influence all around and working vigorously to prevent God's governance.
In other words spiritual warfare is a pro-active approach to our faith as when devil torture us and poison our thoughts we starting actively resist him. While people chasing spiritual disciplines are stronger and better prepared, non believers in God and spiritually poor ones are always in danger.
People use prayer as a weapon to run through bulwark that cannot be reached in any other way as spiritual warfare is deviation from passive attitudes leading to fight and make force to keep them to pursue only those things that will benefit them and instead of seeking daily routine people submit their will to God and accept the sacrifices He calls them to make. People who have spiritual warfare perspective will look around on situation to make sure that there included something more than natural influence. For example many people challenge their diseases with prayer and spiritual power and the pain is disappearing.
Most of people and especially Christians don't like to use the word "warfare" as the war is associated with evil destroying everything all around and most of people by their nature follow the peaceful life. When people spiritually strong they have an alertness to the activity of the evil forces and they also know that this power will bring discipline to their thought life and to their actions and if make a compromise in any field it will not be effective in resisting the enemy, the sin for such people is very serious , because they know that sin always gives advantage to the enemy and authority, strength, wisdom and distinguishment are dependent upon their close walk with his God and guard themselves from distractions caused by problems and troubles that appear.
The concept of warfare also very important for recovering families and their relationships with children. Every child must see in their parent reflection of God's attributes of unconditional love, holiness and faithfulness and parents need to become a priest of the home and a guide of God's power in the home and protect each member of their family from the evil forces. For the success of their family and children godly parents can also exercise great authority in the name of Christ to resist the enemy and bring the sins of the children to God thus the enemy cannot establish bulwark in their lives.
In the long run a commitment to spiritual warfare means a new attitude, when you want to have worth for God, not trying to live the comfortable life with as some problems as possible, a greater focus, when you understand the importance of keeping your eyes on the God and standing in faith upon God's character, not in your abilities, a necessary discipline, when you are spending more time being alert and docile to the leading of the Spirit, and a more balanced biblical view, when you take very seriously the Biblical warnings to God's people about an enemy that is real.
